Yes, your personal information is safe with RefurbMe. We collect minimal data, do not sell it, and give you full control over your account.

What data we collect

RefurbMe only collects the information necessary to provide our service:

  • Email address if you set up a price or stock alert, or sign up for the deal digest.
  • Alert preferences such as the products you are tracking, your desired price thresholds, and notification settings.
  • Visit data measured with PostHog through a visit cookie that lasts 30 minutes, plus three 10-minute cookies that link a click on an offer to the page it came from. In the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Brazil, and when we can't tell your country, a consent banner shows first, and RefurbMe sets no measurement cookie and sends nothing to PostHog until you click "Accept". Visitors in the US and Canada see no banner, and measurement starts on the first page. You can change your answer at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. The cookie policy lists every cookie.

What we do not store

RefurbMe does not have access to sensitive personal or financial data:

  • No payment information. When you click through to a seller, your purchase is completed entirely on the refurbisher's website. RefurbMe never sees your credit card, PayPal, or banking details.
  • No shipping addresses. We are a comparison service and do not process orders.
  • No passwords from other services. We do not connect to your Apple ID or any seller accounts.

Your data, your control

  • We never sell your email address. Our email provider, Maileroo, uses it to send your alerts and the weekly deal digest, which starts when you confirm your address. You can unsubscribe from each one separately.
  • Trustpilot receives it once if you buy through RefurbMe. When a seller reports a purchase you made after clicking an offer on RefurbMe, we send you one email asking for a review, with a copy to Trustpilot. Trustpilot gets your email address, your name if we have it, and the order reference, so it can send you its own review invitation. It does not learn what you bought.   • The privacy policy lists every service that receives your data.
  • You can remove your data and close your account at any time from the Product Alerts page.
